IMA Bulk Ore Sorting System: Improved profitability and sustainability

The IMA Bulk Ore Sorting System (BOSS) technology is the most economical option in pre-concentration for your mine. IMA BOSS sorts ore and waste rock or different ore grades by analyzing the mill feed on the primarily crushed ore conveyor in short-term batches.

Watch how it works!

No ore screening or other pretreatment is required. We perform a simple application study with the samples, in the IMA BOSS laboratory, to proceed with the BOSS concept. This is followed by a short pilot test in the mine, with a Fast Conveyor Analyzer unit mounted on the mine’s existing ore conveyor.

The combination of IMA BOSS lab, field studies, and economic benefit calculation, shows bulk ore sorting’s potential in a few months, and proposed sorting arrangement for mines.

What is IMA Engineering?

IMA Engineering has used on-line sensors for analyzing ore and waste rock in mining for over 25 years. Today IMA on-line sensors are used in various stages of the mining process including on-line analysis of drill cores, drill chips, ore, and waste in loader buckets, ROM ore analysis on conveyor belts and in bulk ore sorting, as well as slurry analysis in concentrators.
