IMA Engineering attended the 7th illuMINEation consortium meeting, hosted by KGHM Cuprum Research and Development Centre, in Poland. All the partners visited the Centrum Badawczo-Rozwojowe underground salt mine.

IMA Engineering attended the 7th illuMINEation consortium meeting, and the final one, as KGHM Cuprum Research and Development Centre, in Poland, hosted it. All the partners visited the Centrum Badawczo-Rozwojowe underground salt mine.

”We had the chance to discover, together with the consortium colleagues, the methods, and processes of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A salt mine. It is exciting to see how we can all contribute, and we thank all our partners for their commitment to building the future of mining”, Damith De Silva, Research Engineer mentioned.

The participants also had the chance to visit the Mine and the Ore Enrichment Plant in Polkowice

46 people from 18 entities presented the achievements of the project, the results of the tests, and also ideas for introducing solutions to the market. They are all involved in the development of solutions for safe, sustainable, and also efficient resource extraction in Europe.

KGHM CUPRUM sp. z o.o. – Centrum Badawczo-Rozwojowe organized the meeting, on the 10th, and 11th of January. This comes after Boliden (Sweden) hosted the previous one.

The consortium reunites 19 partners from Austria, Finland, Germany, Poland, Spain, and Sweden. Their aim in the project is to prepare for the shift in the future of mining, by adopting pioneering innovations, and intensive use of digitalization in mining.

What is IMA Engineering?

IMA Engineering has used on-line sensors for analyzing ore and waste rock in mining for over 25 years. Today IMA on-line sensors are used in various stages of the mining process including on-line analysis of drill cores, drill chips, ore, and waste in loader buckets, ROM ore analysis on conveyor belts and in bulk ore sorting, as well as in slurry analysis in concentrators.
