Digital and Sustainable Ore Sorting Solutions

Ore sorting is one of the focus areas mining companies are now looking at in improving mining proficiency and becoming ever more sustainable in mining.

For the past decade IMA Engineering has been developing sensor applications to better separate ore from the waste from early exploration to modern bulk ore sorting.

Mr. Ilpo Auranen, Chairman of IMA Engineering has been recently interviewed by Dan Gleeson from the International Mining Magazine on the topic of Ore Sorting and Pre-Concentration Technology.

You can read the whole article featuring Mr. Auranen’s interview in the 2021 March issue of the International Mining Magazine. Read the complete article and interview online or download a copy below.

What is IMA Engineering?

IMA Engineering has used on-line sensors for analyzing ore and waste rock in mining for over 25 years. Today IMA on-line sensors are used in various stages of the mining process including on-line analysis of drill cores, drill chips, ore, and waste in loader buckets, ROM ore analysis on conveyor belts and in bulk ore sorting, as well as slurry analysis in concentrators.
